Leeds Centre for Integrated Living is a Social Enterprise with charitable status that helps disabled people, families with disabled children and older people to set up and manage their own personal support services.  This includes people using Personal Budgets, and Direct Payments.

The Role

We require an effective Team Leader to add to our experienced and committed staff team. You will have the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of social care provision in the third sector.  Our Independent Living team provides a supportive, efficient, high quality and focussed service to assist our customers in employing and managing their own support workers.  Providing ongoing advice when required regarding the employer/employee relationship.

Your role will involve –

  • Having responsibility for the smooth daily operation of the Independent Living Service
  • Promoting and maintaining positive joint working relationships with internal/external agencies and families
  • Supervision, induction, training and work co-ordination of the Independent Living Team, offering support and guidance where appropriate
  • Working positively at all times to foster, motivate and develop effective team working
  • Dealing with complex cases and ensure deadlines for completing tasks are met
  • Assisting with the ongoing development of the Independent Living Service

The Person

You must have the following –

  • Strong organisational, numerical and customer service skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of Recruitment procedures and Employment Law
  • Ability to work appropriately with people from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Good experience of using Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Ability to keep accurate manual and electronic records
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with internal and external customers
  • Basic understanding of Payroll is desirable

You will have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a similar type role, however we would welcome applications from all candidates who can demonstrate that they have the necessary skills, knowledge and experience outlined in the job person specification.
