The Actively Seeking Independence Support Team (otherwise known as ASIST) provides information, guidance and support for people employing their own Personal Assistants (Pas), who help them with daily living tasks such as personal care or attending appointments. Everyone at ASIST understands that the task of employing your own PA can be quite confusing and stressful initially, which is why we're here to help. We can guide you with finding a PA, setting up bank accounts, organising payroll, advising you on what paperwork you need and insurances you should have as an employer rather than leaving you to struggle and find out on your own
Up until now we've outsourced our payroll service, but we are now in the stages of bringing things in-house to be managed by our own dedicated team of finance support workers. We're doing this to be able to provide a better more effective system that will allow us to offer this service to a wider number of people. As and when we have a further update about this, we will put up the information on the website. So if you'd like to keep up to date with this development, then please either let us know your email address or give one of the team a call so that we can keep you up to date.
